Not car related, but pretty sure I'm getting fired Monday, so I've got that to celebrate this weekend. Just under a year with the company, never lost a job before, so this will be a new experience.

Are you comfortable giving background?
Either way, Sorry. Loosing a job is hard.

5 years in sales/fundraising/event management type stuff. Currently in consumer packaged goods. I could see the writing on the wall months ago, just not performing as well as I expected to in this position, really I would probably do the same thing in my boss' shoes.
Still kicking myself for completely blowing that interview with Chrysler last year at the very last minute just as the manager was congratulating me for everything going so well up to that point.

Sorry to hear that, There are more and probably better opportunities out there! You can probably call Chrysler up and get them to give you another shot! One thing is that if you are going to be fired, it's probably better to resign IMO.

The biggest issue with me, when I got fired for the first time in my life (on April 1st of this year) was the blow to my self-confidence/self-esteem. I had chronically low levels of faith in myself before, and that just made it all the more worse. I still haven't found a job yet, and it really is quite depressing. I hope things work out for you. I'm here to talk if you or anyone else in the same situation needs it.

I've tried that a few times, straight to voicemail. I know resignation looks a lot better on your record, but if you need to collect unemployment for a while, it's easier to do that if you're fired.

Thanks, yeah I can understand the feelings. In the scheme of things, 3 months isn't all that look of a time in this day and age, a lot of people are going through this stuff now. I think I'm in the same boat as you in terms of lacking confidence in general, the good thing is there's not much further down it can go.

Yeah, and if the reasoning behind it if the next employer acts is the reason that you stated above you should be fine.
